As-salaamu alaykum wa rahmatu’llah everyone.  The SSC staff is pleased to inform you of some special opportunities coming in the SSC Zawiyah in the next few months. 

Personal Spiritual Retreat is an excellent way to immerse yourself in a deeper understanding and experience of the teachings:

·      Each day is spent in prayer, dhikr, reading/writing the teachings, and quiet contemplation. 

·      These simple practices help you to cultivate your own personal connection to the Divine and the presence of our spiritual guide Sidi Muhammad.

·      The prayers and dhikr purify the heart and immerse you in Divine Light. 

·      The writings establish and deepen your relationship to Sidi and expand your spiritual knowledge. 

·      The quiet of the land provides space for deep introspection and reflection. 

·      Also during retreat, Said bin Yunus (the SSRC Imam) is readily available to help answer your questions about the teachings, the practices and personal guidance. 

The zawiyah is open for personal spiritual retreat most times from now until the end of the year!

Spending time in personal retreat before and/or after USHS school sessions can really help you benefit in school! 

Come early before USHS sessions to make Spiritual Retreat in the zawiyah.  This is a wonderful way to:

·         Catch up on writing home-work assignments that you didn’t have time to finish during interval periods;

·         Leave behind the distractions of work, family and travel so that you are fresh and open to receive the teachings during the school session;

·         Spend time on the land, allowing the beauty and splendor of nature to heal your heart.

Spend time after the USHS Sessions to make Spiritual Retreat in the Zawiyah.  This may help:

·         Get a head start on your writing assignments before re-entering to the rush & hustle of modern life;

·         Contemplate and integrate the teachings of the session more deeply before returning to old patterns at home;

·         You to relax and soak up more of the light at the land.

The Zawiyah is open for Extended Stay:

·         October 15-19;         (3 days before the beginning of USHS Year 2 & TIP)

·         October 31- Nov 2;  (3 days after the USHS Year 3 class ends)

·         November 5-7;         (3 days before USHS Year 1)

·         November 14-16;     (3 days after USHS Year 1)

During this time 4 excellent teachers from the USHS faculty will be training USHS Masters Students in how to run a zawiyah.  This program is partially open to those who are not in the Masters Program but would like to benefit from this program.  USHS Masters Students (and occasionally Faculty) will lead zawiyah participants in reciting the daily wird, dhikr, and Divine Qualities.  They will also host daily check-ins and guided readings from Sidi’s books.
